Nairobi, Kenya, 24th August 2015: Kenya’s top hair manufacturer Darling hair has sealed a deal with Jumia to sell its assortment of braids, weaves, extensions and wigs on its new virtual Darling hair shop on Jumia.

Style Industries, the 26 year old company that manufactures Darling hair and operates in 21 African countries said consumers have moved to purchasing products online from their mobile phones, tablets and laptops and that the move is vital in staying on tabs with the current trend.

“Ladies across Kenya can now buy our products online and have them delivered to their office or home anywhere in Kenya where they can pay on delivery. We are looking forward to be the no. 1 hair product purchased online,” Alfred Okenye, Head- Strategy and Implementation Style Industries.

The announcement also forms part of the business’s strategy to grow its market position throughout Kenya and gain a bigger market share by bridging the gap between online and offline sales.

Parinaz Firozi MD Jumia Kenya said, “We are delighted to work with Darling hair to offer our customers their favourite hair right on their doorstep. We appreciate the support form Darling hair.”

The now top hair manufacturer started in a small go-down in the 90’s in Nairobi’s industrial area with a hand drawn cart as the means of transport operated by one of their delivery personnel who also doubled up as marketing executive. The company has in the last few year been rated among the top three African countries in hair manufacturing in both quality and styles.
