Vijay Eswaran is a Malaysian entrepreneur, author, and philanthropist born in Penang in 1960. He is the founder and executive chairman of the QI Group, a multinational conglomerate involved in various industries including e-commerce, travel, telecommunications, wellness, and education, with a presence in over 30 countries.

Educated in the UK and the USA, Eswaran holds degrees in socio-economics and management accounting, as well as an MBA. Before turning to entrepreneurship, he worked in high-level positions, including with IBM. In 1998, he co-founded the QI Group which has since grown into a diversified multinational business.

Eswaran is also a motivational speaker and author of several books on life management, leadership, and personal development. One of his best-known books is In the Sphere of Silence (2005), which has been widely translated and appreciated for its insights into spirituality and self-reflection. He often incorporates his philosophy of "RYTHM" (Raise Yourself To Help Mankind) and advocates value-based leadership and sustainable business practices.
