Payment Information Guidelines

1.0 Payment methods accepted by Jumia

Jumia accepts the following methods of payment (some of these methods may be available in select markets only - please check the country website for payment methods accepted in your region):

• Payment on delivery
• Debit & Credit card
• Bank transfer
• Mobile money transfer
• JumiaPay

1.1 Payment on delivery

For payment upon delivery, including Mobile Money, credit/debit card or Mastercard, simply wait for your order to be delivered and choose your preferred payment method.

1.2 Debit & Credit Cards

You may make payments for your purchases from the Jumia marketplace by using your debit or credit card.

You will be required to input your card details at the checkout process as a payment method.

Please refer to the Jumia marketplace terms and conditions and the Jumia privacy notice to learn how Jumia processes your information.

1.3 Bank Transfer

You may make payments for your purchases from the Jumia marketplace by bank transfer. You will be required to input your bank information at the checkout process.

1.4 Mobile Money

You may make payments for your purchases from the Jumia marketplace via mobile money transfer. You will be required to input your mobile money account details at the checkout process.

1.5 JumiaPay, where available

You may make payments for your purchases via JumiaPay, in markets where it is available. JumiaPay allows you to register and access your credit cards, debit cards, bank transfer information, mobile money accounts, and other payment methods that we accept for making purchases. JumiaPay may also allow you to pay without registering for or opening an account.

2.0 Adding or changing payment methods

You can add a new payment method or change your existing payment method at any time by logging in to your Jumia account and changing your Jumia profile. You also may add or remove payment methods that are linked to your account through JumiaPay.

3.0 Vouchers

Jumia offers two types of vouchers: promotional voucher codes and refund vouchers.

3.1 Promotional Voucher Codes

What are promotional voucher codes?

Promotional voucher codes are codes issued by Jumia that offer a specific discount or credit on a Jumia marketplace. Vouchers may be subject to additional terms and conditions.

How can one obtain a promotional voucher code?

Jumia may award you with a promotional voucher code for participating in a campaign or it may be offered to you as an incentive or compensation.

Where can I find/access the promotional voucher code?

The promotional codes are provided periodically by Jumia.

How can I use the promotional voucher code?

You may use the promotional voucher code only to make purchases on a Jumia marketplace.

The promotional voucher code may only be used and redeemed once. Any promotional code for duplicate benefits will be voided.

Only promotional voucher codes communicated by Jumia are valid.

A Jumia promotional voucher code is applied to your final cart purchases, available at check-out, and is deducted from the total amount of your purchase(s).

Can the promotional voucher be transferred, withdrawn, or converted to cash?

You cannot transfer or withdraw your promotional voucher code or convert it into cash.

What is the expiry period of the promotional voucher codes?

The expiration date of any promotional voucher code will be communicated to you with the code.

3.2 Refund Voucher Codes

What are refund voucher codes?

Refund voucher codes are issued by Jumia as a refund for purchases made on a Jumia marketplace. Refund vouchers are redeemable on a Jumia marketplace as a method of payment for a future order.

Where can I find the refund voucher?

The refund voucher codes are provided by Jumia when a return and refund is processed. Please see our Returns and Refund Policy for more information.

How can I use the refund voucher?

You may use the refund vouchers only to make purchases on Jumia marketplaces.

Only refund voucher codes communicated by Jumia are valid.

The Jumia refund voucher is applied to your final cart purchases, available at check-out and is deducted from the total amount of your purchase(s).

Can the refund voucher be transferred or withdrawn?

You cannot transfer your refund voucher. You may request a cash refund, which will typically be done by bank transfer, in lieu of a refund voucher by contacting our Customer Service Department.

What is the expiry period of the refund voucher?

Refund vouchers expire after 180 days and must be used within this period.

4.0 Jumia Store Credit

Jumia store credit refers to credit, including refund credit, reward credit and gift cards, held on your behalf in your Jumia account. You may redeem and apply Jumia store credit to any purchase you are making on the Jumia marketplace. You may make payments for your purchases by redeeming any Jumia store credit you have accumulated. Please refer to our Jumia Store Credit Terms and Conditions and Sections 5 and 6 below for more information.

5.0 Refund Store Credit

A refund store credit is a store credit issued as a refund from a prior purchase. Jumia store credits may be used instead of cash or other forms of payment for purchases via JumiaPay.

How can I obtain refund store credit?

If you use JumiaPay, Jumia may issue store credit as a refund for purchases made on the Jumia marketplace. Please refer to the Returns and Refund Policy for more information on Returns and Refunds.

Where can I find/access my Jumia refund store credit?

You can find your Jumia refund store credit in your Jumia account. The Jumia store credit appears as a balance on your Jumia account, and it is also visible on the JumiaPay App as a store credit balance.

How can I use my refund store credit?

You may use your Jumia refund store credit only to make purchases on a Jumia marketplace.

You may partially use your Jumia refund store credit until it is depleted.

Can I withdraw or transfer my Jumia refund store credit?

Generally, Jumia refund store credit is not transferable and may not be withdrawn from your Jumia account.

You can request to receive a cash refund, which will typically be done by bank transfer, in lieu of a refund credit by contacting our Customer Service Department or by following the instructions in your Jumia account app or webpage to withdraw your refund credit, if this feature is available.

What is the expiry period of Jumia refund store credits?

The Jumia refund store credit does not have an expiry period and is usable until it is depleted

6.0 Reward Store Credits (Cash-back and Top-ups)

JumiaPay may offer some rewards and other benefits as part of marketing promotions and campaigns from time to time.

These rewards and benefits may be offered in the form of top-ups and cash-backs, which may be redeemed directly according to the publicized terms and conditions. These rewards will be visible in your Jumia account as reward credits once issued.

6.1 Cash back

What are cash-backs?

A cash-back refers to an incentive offered to you for making successful purchases on a Jumia marketplace via JumiaPay. You will get back a percentage of the total price of the successful purchase that is made.

Where can I find/access my cash back?

Your cash-back is available in your Jumia account and may be applied towards your next purchase on a Jumia marketplace.

How can I use my cash back?

You may use your cash-back to make purchases on a Jumia marketplace. Your cash-back is usable until it is expended.

Can cash-backs be transferred or withdrawn?

The Jumia cash-back cannot be transferred or withdrawn or redeemed for cash.

What is the expiry period of cash backs?

The Jumia cash-back does not have an expiry period and is available for use until it is depleted.

6.2 Top Ups

What are top-ups?

A top-up refers to an incentive offered to select customers who participate in a marketing campaign or promotion and who make successful purchases on a Jumia marketplace and complete the purchases through JumiaPay.

The selected customers are eligible to receive a credit in their Jumia account for use for future purchases.

Where can I find/access my top-up?

The Jumia top-up is applied to your Jumia store credit and may be applied towards your next purchase on the Jumia marketplace.

How can I use my top-up?

You may use your top-up to only make purchases on the Jumia marketplace. You can partially use your top-up until it is depleted.

Can top-ups be transferred or withdrawn?

The Jumia top-up cannot be transferred or withdrawn or redeemed for cash.

What is the expiry period of top-ups?

The Jumia top-up is only available for use for a certain period which will be determined and communicated to you when the top-up is awarded to you.

7.0 Other Promotions and Discounts

Jumia may offer various other promotions and discounts that may be applied towards a purchase on a Jumia marketplace and which may be subject to specific terms and conditions.
