Galigan 240 EC is a powerful and versatile herbicide designed for the selective control of a wide range of broadleaf and annual grass unwanted plants in various crops, such as onions, cabbages, tomatoes, and other vegetables. Its emulsifiable concentrate (EC) formulation ensures ease of application and effective unwanted plant control in both pre-emergence and post-emergence stages.

Active Ingredient:

Oxyfluorfen: 240 g/L. Oxyfluorfen is a broad-spectrum herbicide that targets and controls a variety of unwanted plants, making it an essential tool for maintaining healthy and productive crops.

Mode of Action:

Oxyfluorfen works by inhibiting the enzyme protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO), which is crucial for chlorophyll production in plants. This inhibition leads to the destruction of cell membranes in the target unwanted plants, causing them to dry up and die.

Target Unwanted Plants:

Galigan 240 EC is effective against a variety of unwanted plants, including:

Broadleaf Unwanted Plants: Amaranthus spp., Datura stramonium (Jimsonweed), Tagetes minuta (Wild Marigold), etc.

Annual Grass Unwanted Plants: Avena fatua (Wild Oats), Eleusine indica (Goosegrass), Paspalum dilatatum (Dallisgrass), etc.

Application Instructions:

Pre-emergence: Apply Galigan 240 EC to unwanted plant-free soil surfaces 4-7 days before transplanting the crop. It forms a protective layer on the soil surface, preventing unwanted plant germination and growth. Overhead irrigation is recommended after application to activate the herbicide.

Post-emergence: Apply when annual broadleaf unwanted plants are less than 10 cm high and annual grass unwanted plants are at the 1-2 leaf stage. The herbicide is absorbed through the leaves and young stems of the unwanted plants, causing rapid scorching and death. Avoid disturbing the soil surface after application to maintain the protective barrier.
