Joy the lucky finalist for the now popular reality show hosted and named after comedian and radio host Jalangó has since joined the Jumia team after successfully landing an internship position through the show.
At 25, Joy is still adamant in pursuing her dream of establishing a chain of day-care centres for toddlers in several estates within Nairobi and hopes to raise enough funds to support her idea.
“A day care presents an incredible opportunity to generate sustainable income considering the ever busy schedule for the residents of Nairobi. I am grateful to Jumia for giving the chance to nurture my entrepreneurial skills.”
A normal day now starts at 8:00AM and ends at 6:00PM for Joy – ‘the marketing intern’ as she is now commonly referred to and she hopes to land a permanent job in the leading e-commerce retailer.
“I like her attitude and zeal and am confident she will get the necessary preparation and equipment to handle the job market,” Sofia Zab, marketing manager Jumia, Kenya.
