"Rafiki" by Meja Mwangi tells the story of an out-of-luck musician who becomes a bounty hunter and debt collector. He volunteers to help a failing shopkeeper track down debtors and collect money owed to him. The debtors are mostly the town's poorest residents, many of whom have gone underground by changing residences, names, and identities. Some refuse to part with goods acquired on credit and are willing to defend them fiercely.
