He founded Christian Financial Concepts (CFC) in 1973, which later merged with Crown Ministries to become Crown Financial Ministries, continuing his legacy of biblical stewardship education.

Burkett authored over 70 books, including "Using Your Money Wisely," published in 1986, which presents practical financial advice grounded in biblical principles. His work emphasized debt avoidance, wise budgeting, generous giving, and overall stewardship of financial resources through a Christian worldview.
