I see the maximum resolution on my laptop to be 1600 by 900. I thought I would see a 2000. The jack managed to reach hole even though on opposite side of vga port. Be warned that the jack cable length is somewhat short for some laptops. Failing to connect jack does not prevent you from using the adapter, but adapter needs to be powered by usb.
