FECY Emulsifying Wax NF

Emulsifying Wax NF is a nonionic self-emulsifying wax created to meet the standard for self emulsifying waxes monographed in the National Formulary.  As such, it can be listed in your ingredient listing as Emulsifying Wax NF.  It is mild, provides excellent stability, and is very easy to use. It can be used to make thick or thin emulsions, depending upon the concentration used.

Emulsifying Wax NF is used to make viscous (thick) or thin emulsions, depending on the concentration at which it is used. Use this vegetable based emulsifier at about 5% to keep water and oil combined for lotions, creams, conditioners, etc. Melt Emulsyfying wax with other fats and waxes.

Emulsifying wax is an ideal medium for the blending of fine creams, lotions and other fluid cosmetics which contain oil and water. The ability of emulsifying wax to bind oil and water in perfect union is unparalleled, and today it remains the most ubiquitous substance in a cosmetic manufacturers' formulary.

It is often found in skin care products. It helps keep emulsions together by preventing oil separation. This type of wax is useful for making creams and salve because it enriches creamy formulas. Its saponification value measures the average molecular weight of fatty acids.
