Optiphen Plus is a broad-spectrum, paraben-free, and formaldehyde-free preservative used in cosmetic and personal care formulations. It is highly effective in protecting water-based products such as lotions, creams, shampoos, conditioners, serums, and other emulsions from microbial contamination caused by bacteria, yeast, and mold.

What makes Optiphen Plus unique is its blend of Phenoxyethanol, Sorbic Acid, and Caprylyl Glycol — offering not only antimicrobial protection but also excellent skin-conditioning benefits. This dual-action makes it ideal for products meant for sensitive skin or natural/organic formulations where clean, safe preservation is essential.

Optiphen Plus works well in formulations with a pH range of 4.0 to 8.0, and it should be added during the cool-down phase at temperatures below 60°C (140°F). It’s a liquid preservative that’s easy to incorporate into emulsions or aqueous solutions without affecting the texture, color, or scent of your final product.

The recommended usage rate is 0.75% to 1.5% of the total formulation weight. Because it’s highly concentrated, only a small amount is needed to achieve full-spectrum preservation.
