ASM1142 Type-C is a dual port ultra high speed USB 3.1 PCI-E add-on card that complies with the PCI Express 2nd generation (dual channel x2) specification for host systems. When connected to USB 3.1 compliant peripheral devices, it can transfer data at speeds of up to 10Gbps while maintaining compatibility with existing USB peripheral devices.
USB 3.1 has a connection speed that is 2 times faster than USB 3.0 and 20 times faster than USB 2.0. It can output effective power to USB devices without the need for an additional power adapter connection
