Step 1: Calibrate the tool before each scan
After choosing the mode press and hold the scan button (on the side of the tool) to calibrate this tool. Wait until the discount bars disappear and beep to confirm the calibration is complete.
In stud/deep mode place it on the wall where you want to detect it to calibrate; In AC/Metal mode put it in the air to calibrate.
Step 2: Scan the wall
Hold the button then slowly move the stud finder along the wall if you accidentally shake or lift the scanner the device needs to be recalibrated.
The narrow on the screen with the beep sound changes to guide you to find the stud location.
Step 3: Find the stud location
When the signal bar is full and the beep sound is the loudest it means you have found the center of an object. Mark it with your pencil.
