Product Description

Product Characteristics

Offers the unique benefit of controlling broad leaf weeds in broad leaf crops like potatoes and beans.

It gives the farmer the freedom of post emergence application when the crop and weed has already come up.

It is safe on the crop but tough on weeds.

Gives the unique advantage of effective control of water grasses/nut sedges.

Mode of action

The active ingredient is taken up through the green parts of the plant. The leaves and stems must therefore be adequately wetted with the spray solution. Warmth and good growing weather accelerate the action of the product.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS

Fill the spray tank halfway with clean water.

Start the agitator mechanism and slowly add the required amount of Basagran® 480 SL.

Continue adding water to reach the final required volume while maintaining continuous agitation.

When preparing tank mixes, add each product separately into the tank in the following order:

Solids first

Then Basagran® 480 SL

Lastly, any other liquid herbicides

Use 200–600 liters of water per hectare.

Use the spray mixture immediately after preparation.

Before spraying, calibrate the equipment and check the nozzle output.

Keep the spray solution agitated throughout the spraying process (using the agitator or by reflux).

After any spraying break, re-agitate the solution thoroughly before resuming.

Do not overdose.

Note: Aerial application is also possible using a minimum of 50 liters per hectare, provided that suitable nozzles and pressure are used to produce a droplet spectrum that penetrates the crop and weeds effectively and minimizes drift.

RATE OF APPLICATION & SPRAY INTERVAL

Dry Beans:

Application Rate: 1.5–3.0 liters per hectare (equivalent to 150–300 ml per 20L knapsack).

Use at least 10 knapsacks per hectare.

Apply after formation of the second trifoliate leaf, but before flower buds become visible.

Slight burning of the leaves may occur but usually recovers quickly.

There may be variety differences in tolerance — if uncertain, perform a tolerance test on a small area first.

Apply when weeds are young and actively growing, ideally at the 2–4 leaf stage.

Potatoes:

Application Rate: 1.75–3.0 liters per hectare (equivalent to 175–300 ml per 20L knapsack).

Use a total of 10 knapsacks per hectare or 200 liters of water per hectare.

Spray when the potato plants are 10–15 cm tall and weeds are still young (2–4 leaf stage).

Always test for crop tolerance before spraying a large area.

Maize:

Application Rate: 2.0–3.0 liters per hectare (equivalent to 200–300 ml per 20L knapsack).

Apply in early post-emergence stage when weeds are actively growing.

Spraying can be done up to 30 days after crop emergence.
