In order to spare you the frustration of having a faulty shaker bottle open up in your gym bag, fitness experts in the Good Housekeeping Wellness Lab tested over 20 shakers to find the best of the best. In our tests, we analyzed several factors including: Materials: We favored durable products made from stainless steel. All plastic shakers must be BPA-free, and glass shaker bottles were required to have adequate padding wrapped around them. Seals and caps: We looked for tight seals that prevent leaks, and bottles that provided a back-up locking system just in case. Clumps: Although clumping can vary based on protein powder used, we expect a high quality blender ball or blending mechanism in the shaker to do its job.
