OSHOTHANE 80WP is a broad-spectrum protective fungicide that controls a wide range of fungal diseases on a variety of crops. It is a non-specific thiol reactant that inhibits respiration. OSHOTHANE can be used for the control of fungal diseases such as blight, leaf spot, downy mildew, scab, etc., in field crops, fruit, nuts, vegetables, ornamentals, etc. It is especially effective in the control of early and late blights of potatoes and tomatoes, gray & Septoria leaf spot diseases on vegetables, roses, carnations, asparagus, and beans.
Oshothane 80 WP is a widely-used fungicide known for its protective properties in controlling various fungal diseases in crops. Its primary active ingredient, Mancozeb, makes it an effective solution for managing plant diseases such as blight, leaf spot, downy mildew, and scab. Manufactured by Osho Chemical Industries Ltd., this fungicide is formulated to provide farmers with a reliable and versatile option for crop protection.
Mancozeb: 800g/Kg
Mancozeb is a multi-site contact fungicide that works by inhibiting the development of fungal spores and preventing the growth of fungal mycelium. It achieves this by reacting with sulphydryl groups in fungal cells, disrupting their metabolic processes and ultimately leading to their death.
Non-specific thiol reactant: Mancozeb disrupts the respiration process in fungal cells, making it difficult for them to survive.
Protective action: Oshothane 80 WP acts as a preventative fungicide, meaning it should be applied before the onset of disease to ensure maximum effectiveness.
designed to address a variety of common fungal diseases that affect crops
Here are some of the key problems it helps manage:
Early Blight: Caused by the fungus Alternaria solani, early blight affects potatoes and tomatoes, leading to dark spots on leaves and stems.
Late Blight: Caused by the oomycete Phytophthora infestans, late blight is a serious disease that affects potatoes and tomatoes, causing large, water-soaked lesions on leaves, stems, and tubers.
Septoria Leaf Spot: Caused by the fungus Septoria lycopersici, this disease affects tomatoes, leading to small, circular spots with dark borders on leaves.
Anthracnose: Caused by fungi in the genus Colletotrichum, anthracnose affects a wide range of crops, causing dark, sunken lesions on leaves, stems, fruits, and flowers.
Downy Mildew: Caused by various species of oomycetes, downy mildew affects a wide range of crops, including grapes, cucurbits, and brassicas. It leads to yellowing and browning of leaves, with a characteristic downy growth on the underside.
Apple Scab: Caused by the fungus Venturia inaequalis, apple scab affects apple trees, leading to dark, scabby lesions on leaves, fruits, and twigs.
Potato Scab: Caused by the bacterium Streptomyces scabies, potato scab leads to rough, corky lesions on potato tubers.
Grey Leaf Spot: Caused by the fungus Cercospora zeae-maydis, grey leaf spot affects maize, leading to rectangular, greyish lesions on leaves.
Downy Mildew: Affects a variety of crops, causing yellowing and browning of leaves with downy growth on the underside.
Anthracnose: Affects a wide range of crops, causing dark, sunken lesions on leaves, stems, fruits, and flowers.
Grey and Septoria Leaf Spots: Affect tomatoes, leading to small, circular spots with dark borders on leaves.
By addressing these common fungal diseases, Oshothane 80 WP helps ensure healthier crops and better yields for farmers

General use: 50g/20L (2 – 2.25kg/ha)
Specific crops:
Potatoes: For control of early blight and late blight, apply 50g per 20 liters of water, equivalent to 2.25kg per hectare.
Tomatoes: For managing early and late blight, anthracnose, and grey & Septoria leaf spots, use 50g per 20 liters of water, with an application rate ranging from 1.6 to 2.25 kg per hectare.
