Turmeric

Turmeric is part of the ginger [Zingiberaceae] family and it is valued in herbal medicine. Dry rhizomes are dug up, boiled and dried before being processed into powder.

Turmeric naturally contains curcuminoids known for its anti-inflammatory properties and also responsible for the bright yellow natural colour.
Curcumin also has the antioxidant properties, supporting body's natural aging process and memory function.

Due to the anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric, it is widely used in skincare including and not limited to helping reduce acne scars. A poultice with turmeric can also help with wound healing.

Turmeric is also purported to help with dandruff and hair loss and can be added to hair preparations.

For internal consumption:

To increase curcumin absorption , consume turmeric with fatty food- oil.
If using turmeric as the post workout supplement, take 1 tsp of turmeric powder with hot water (tea), hot milk , smoothie or soup.

For the external use, apply turmeric paste over joint swelling,boil, bruise, acne, fresh wound.
