ZTTO Chain Wear Indicator
Brand: ZTTO Model: LTJC-001 Material: Aluminum Alloy Weight: About 42g
To alleviate poor shifting and uneven drive train wear, manufacturers recommend chain replacement before rear cog replacement. Now you can quickly and accurately determine the wear and stretch of any chain with the ZTTO Chain Checker. Simply insert the Chain Checkers pins into two links, lightly pre the swing arm gauge, and then check the gauge window for an accurate reading, the chain wear indicator will determine if your chain needs to be replaced. Over a period of time every chain will stretch resulting in poor shifting and the high poibility of the chain snapping.
Features: The LTJC-001 is compatible with all derailleur chains. For 9 and 10-speed chains, replace chain at or just before the 0.75% readings. For 11 and 12-speed chain, replace at or just before the 0.5% reading. Check with manufacturer for specific replacement instructions.
How to use LTJC-001 know when to replace your chain?
To measure chain wear using the LTJC-001 Chain Checker, insert the rear stud between two outer plates and the front stud between two inner plates.
Push lightly on the lever to take slack out of the chain and feel where it comes to distinct stop. Don't force the tool beyond the stopping point. The reading in the window will tell you the percent wear of your chain. It's that simple.
Remember, using a chain beyond its intended wear limit will prematurely wear out your cogs and chainrings so staying on top of this routine maintenance task can save you a lot of cost and hale in the long run.
