Hawaiian Silky Curl Reconstructor

• Purpose: Straightens natural curls to make hair ready for reshaping into looser, more defined curls or waves. It is part of a curl reformation system, often referred to as a “curly perm” process.
• Usage: Applied to clean, damp hair, typically ¼ inch from the scalp. For touch-ups, it is applied only to new growth. The product should not exceed 15 minutes of processing time to avoid damage.
• Follow-Up: Used prior to the Hawaiian Silky Curl Booster, which softens hair to take the shape of curl rods, and finalized with a neutralizing solution to set the curl pattern.
• Size: Commonly available in a 20 oz container, though larger sizes (e.g., 4 lb) may exist.
• No Dryer Needed: The process does not require a hair dryer, making it a “cold wave” system.

Application Process:

1. Preparation: Check hair and scalp for abrasions or damage. Gently shampoo hair and rinse with tepid water, avoiding scratching the scalp.
2. Application: Apply the Curl Reconstructor evenly to hair (or new growth for retouches), leaving it on for up to 15 minutes until desired straightness is achieved. Rinse thoroughly and towel blot.
3. Curl Reformation: Apply Hawaiian Silky Curl Booster, wrap hair around rods of the desired size, and process for no more than 10 minutes. Test for an “S” pattern to confirm curl formation.
4. Neutralizing: Rinse thoroughly, apply Hawaiian Silky Neutralizing Solution for 15 minutes, remove rods, and rinse again.
5. Styling: Finish with Hawaiian Silky Moisturizer and Gel Activator for styling.
