Flaxseed oil, also known as linseed oil, is a cold-pressed vegetable oil with a slightly nutty and sweet taste which is a favorite among vegetarians.
Flaxseed oil is a great source ofOmega-3 fatty acids in the form of alpha-linolenic acid, which is suitable for vegetarians. This provides anti-inflammatory properties that may help to reduce cholesterol, lower blood pressure and improve overall heart health when taken internally.
This oil can be used topically to treat dryness, irritation, and inflammation by soothing the skin and locking in moisture
Directions for use
Flaxseed oil can be consumed internally by adding it to salads, vegetables, sauces, and smoothies, or by taking a tablespoon per day as a supplement. It has a low smoke point and can be damaged at high heat, so it is not advisable to cook with this oil.
To treat dry or damaged skin as well as skin conditions, massage a few drops of flaxseed oil into the skin in the evening and let it absorb overnight.
Use this oil topically as a massage oil, a carrier oil, and a hydrating hair oil.
