Zinex 10 Liquid is an antihistamine oral solution primarily used to relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, runny nose, and hives. It contains Levocetirizine hydrochloride (2.5 mg per 5 ml) and is indicated for allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria.

Composition

Active ingredient: Levocetirizine hydrochloride

Strength: 2.5 mg per 5 ml (1 teaspoonful)

Indications

Seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) – relief of sneezing, nasal congestion, itchy/watery eyes.

Perennial allergic rhinitis – symptoms caused by dust mites, animal dander, molds.

Chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives) – itching and swelling of the skin.

Dosage & Administration

Children 6 months–5 years: 2.5 ml (½ teaspoonful) once daily.

Children 6–11 years: 5 ml (1 teaspoonful) once daily.

Adults & children ≥12 years: 10 ml (2 teaspoonfuls) once daily.

Renal impairment: Dose adjustment is required depending on severity.

Administration: Taken orally, usually at bedtime, with or without food.

Mechanism of Action

Zinex works by blocking histamine receptors, reducing allergic responses such as sneezing, itching, and swelling.

⚠️ Side Effects & Precautions

Common side effects: Drowsiness, dry mouth, fatigue.

Less common: Headache, dizziness, gastrointestinal upset.

Precautions:

Avoid alcohol (may increase drowsiness).

Use with caution in patients with kidney problems.
