The Reptile Room is the second book in Lemony Snicket's "A Series of Unfortunate Events." However, trouble arises when Stephano, the new assistant, arrives—who is actually Count Olaf in disguise. Olaf threatens the children and eventually kills Uncle Montgomery by injecting him with venom from a deadly snake. The Baudelaires try to expose Olaf’s identity but face disbelief from adults like Mr. Poe until some evidence reveals Stephano’s true identity, including a tattoo on his ankle.
