When applied to the crop, Azoxystrobin diffuses through the leaves to the vascular tissues where it is moved upward (acropetally) within the plant through the transpiration stream.

Azaka 250SC is a broad-spectrum fungicide designed to control various fungal diseases in crops. It is a suspension concentrate (SC) formulation that provides both contact and systemic protection against fungal pathogens. The active ingredient in Azaka 250SC is Azoxystrobin, which is present at a concentration of 250g/L.

Active Ingredient

Azoxystrobin: Azoxystrobin is a strobilurin fungicide that works by inhibiting mitochondrial respiration in fungi. This action prevents spore germination and mycelial growth, effectively controlling the spread of fungal diseases. Azoxystrobin also exhibits anti-sporulant activity, providing protection at all stages of disease development.

Target Diseases

Azaka 250SC is effective against a range of fungal diseases, including:

Powdery Mildew (Sphaerotheca pannosa): Commonly affects roses.

Rust (Uromyces dianthi): Commonly affects carnations.

Mode of Action

When applied to crops, Azoxystrobin diffuses through the leaves to the vascular tissues, where it is transported upwards (acropetally) within the plant through the transpiration stream. This systemic movement ensures that the fungicide reaches all parts of the plant, providing comprehensive protection against fungal pathogens2.

Application and Usage

Application Timing: Apply Azaka 250SC at the onset of disease development or when conditions are favorable for disease development.

Application Rate: The recommended application rate is 500ml per hectare or 10ml per 20 liters of water.

Frequency: Repeat the application every 14 days during low disease pressure. During high disease pressure, reduce the interval to 7 days. It is recommended to give two applications per season and then switch to a product with a different mode of action to prevent resistance development3.

Recommendations and Rates of Application

Apply Azaka 250 SC® at the onset of disease development or conditions are right for disease development at below rates. 

Repeat the application after 14 days during low disease pressure. 

When disease pressure is high, reduce the interval to 7 days. Give 2 applications per season then change to a product with a different mode of action.
