A personal hand shower (or handheld shower, hygiene spray, bidet‑shower, health faucet) is a shower spray head attached to a flexible hose. The user holds the head in hand to direct water to wherever needed—whether for cleaning specific parts of the body, washing hair, pet bathing, or even as a bidet substitute. Often installed next to a toilet bowl or in a shower stall.
Feature | Purpose / Benefit |
---|---|
Flexible hose | Gives reach and freedom of movement. Useful for directing spray precisely (e.g. lower body hygiene, rinsing hair, bathing children). |
Trigger or lever / flow control | Lets you start and stop water easily, or adjust flow. Helps reduce waste and makes control easier. |
Temperature control / mixing | Some hand showers are connected to hot and cold supplies; others have built-in instant heating. Allows you to get comfortable water. |
Spray modes | Multiple spray patterns (mist, strong jet, soft spray, massage etc.) give flexibility depending on what you’re using it for. |
Mount / bracket | For holding the shower head when not in hand. Makes storage neat and hands‑free use possible. |
Material & finish | Durability, resistance to corrosion / rust, ease of cleaning (e.g. anti‑limescale nozzles). ABS plastic, stainless steel, brass are common. |
Safety features | Backflow prevention (especially for bidet type), good seals, good hose connectors, sometimes pressure limits. |
Size / length of hose | The longer the hose, the more flexibility; but longer hose can reduce pressure or be harder to manage. |
