- Molasses is made by boiling for a second time, after boiling this syrup a third time, a dark viscous liquid known to Americans as black strap molasses emerges.
- It contains the least amount of sugar of any sugar cane product it's unique in that it is not refined sugar, which has little nutritional value, it is a diabetes friendly sweetener
