Calcium (Chewable) 400mg (with Vitamin D3)

Each daily dose of Natures Aid Calcium (Chewable) tablets provides 800mg Calcium with 5µg (200iu) Vitamin D3.

Calcium and vitamin D help to reduce the loss of bone mineral in post-menopausal women. Low bone mineral density is a risk factor for osteoporotic bone fractures Calcium and Vitamin D also contribute to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth.

Calcium

Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body and accounts for around 1.5% of total body weight. The distribution of calcium is mainly in the bones and teeth (99%) with a little found in soft tissues and the blood.

Calcium is important for the maintenance of normal bones and teeth, and contributes to: normal muscle function, normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal neurotransmission, the normal function of digestive enzymes, and has a role in the process of cell division.

Vitamin D3

In the UK, millions of children and adults suffer from Vitamin D deficiency, this is because it is virtually impossible to get the amount you need from diet alone. Therefore the UK Department of Health recommends that everyone should consider a Vitamin D supplement.

Vitamin D3 contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, teeth, and muscle function. It also plays a role in the process of cell division, and is helpful in the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin D also helps to maintain normal blood calcium levels.
