The Family Computer GAME or "FC," is the original Japanese version of what would be released in the West as the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Key features of the original GAME include:

A unique design: The GAME had a distinct red and white color scheme, hard-wired controllers, and a top-loading cartridge slot.
Hard-wired controllers: These controllers were permanently attached to the console. The second controller included a microphone for use in certain games.
Expansion port: A 15-pin expansion port was included on the front of the console to accommodate external peripherals, such as the GAME Disk System and the Zapper light gun.
RF video output: The original 1983 model used an RF modulator for video output, which was later updated to composite AV output on the 1993 AV GAME model.
No lockout chip: Unlike the NES, the original GAME lacked a lockout chip, which made it easier for unlicensed third-party games to be produced.
