The Shimano Deore crankset FC-M5100 is a crank with only one chainring, which was designed for 10-speed and 11-speed drives. The chainring is not mounted directly, but via a 4-arm spider. Thanks to the 2-piece construction, a balanced ratio of rigidity to weight is ensured.
