Manual Aneroid Blood Pressure Machine

Aneroid bp machine measure the pressure of the blood flowing against the walls of the artery, that constantly changes during the cardiac cycle.The person whose bp is being taken should relax , sit comfortably and keep the arm at heart level. The cuff is placed 2-3 cm above the bend of the elbow, pulled through the D shaped ring and closed by means of velcro closure. Place the stethoscope above the brachial artery, close the air valve on the bulb, squeeze the inflation bulb until the needle on the gauge point at 200mmHg. slowly open air valve as the cuff begins to deflate , listen carefully for a faint rhythmic tapping or thumbing sound- this is the systolic upper bp pressure reading. Allow the pressure to continue dropping at the same deflation rate. When your diastole lower bp val reaches the thumping sound stops. Record your readings.
