It worked, but ...
I purchased it to have an Ethernet RJ-45 jack on my laptop that only had USB-C port. It works for the Ethernet port, although there's one major downside to this dongle. It doesn't have a power extension for USB-C. So if your laptop has only one USB-C port that is also used as a power charging port - you'd have to choose whether to use this dongle and to run your laptop on the battery power, or charge it.
