It must not be suspended by a discharge line or delivery hose and there should be no obstructions to any of these items.

The pump should be submerged at least 50cms below the surface of the water and should be at least 50cms from the bottom of the well to reduce the possibility of particles.

Water delivery should be through a flexible 1822mm pipe connected to the faucet using a jubilee type tap and a non-return valve close to the pump is recommended for well depths greater than 5m. It is important to note that the pump vibrates during operation and rigid fixing of the pipe or mounting plate should be avoided.

After installation, it is recommended that the stop line, drop line and discharge hose be tied together with screws or tape at a distance of about 1m with the first tie about 200mm above the pump

The power cable must be connected directly to the mains power via a 5A fuse or MCB.

Where there is a possibility of unreliable voltage supply the suitability of a Sollatek voltage regulator is highly recommended. Continuous operation at low voltage may cause engine failure.

The pump does not require initial lubrication and is self-priming when submerged in water.

The water flow should be monitored and if silt water is detected the pump should be turned off and its position relative to the well/hole should be checked and raised if necessary. If the pump water contains sand or fine stones in the pump there will be damage.

The diaphragm can wear over time. If the pump's performance appears to be deteriorating and the check valve must be replaced.

To save the life of the pump, the operation should be reduced to 2 hours and shut down for half an hour. The pump should not be used continuously for a long time and the full use of the pump should not exceed 12 hours in 24 hours.
