Add tea tree oil to a carrier oil, such as coconut oil. That dilutes the oil and reduces the chances of a reaction. You can either use a cotton swab to apply it and allow it to dry or place a cotton ball soaked in the diluted tea tree oil on the affected area for a few minutes.
Usage for hair:Add tea tree oil to a carrier oil. If a person has dry hair, carrier oils such as shea, coconut, or avocado oil may help moisturize the scalp. If a person's hair is oilier, lighter oils, such as grapeseed, or almond oil may be preferable. Mix 2 or 3 drops of the tea tree oil into a tablespoon of carrier oil.That dilutes the oil and reduces the chances of a reaction. For both dry scalp and dandruff, massage a few drops of the diluted solution into your scalp and leave for 15 minutes before rinsing.
