Guggulu (Commiphora mukul; Burseaceae) :
Widely used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine. Anti-inflammatory, anti-toxic. lowers blood cholesterol, supports the immune system. Combines with Turmeric and Barberry to reduces fat, toxins, tumors, and necrotic (dead) tissue. Guggulu works to disinfect secretions, including mucus, sweat and urination, and helps heal the skin and mucous membranes.
Research with laboratory animals suggests guggulu may help enhance thyroid function. Since the thyroid gland produces hormones that are needed to regulate metabolism, it can help in weight loss.
